This option allows you to ride out your past employers coverage for up to 18 months.

The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 is a law passed by the U.S.  This law provides the ability for some employees to continue health insurance coverage after leaving employment.

Pros:

Typically the easiest way to continue coverage.

In most cases, deductibles don't reset.

Typically the most expensive route for health coverage.
